LOCUS
-- if you can't move because of the other player, just press R --
You awaken at the base of an ancient tree with no memories, yet everything feels hauntingly familiar. Below you, in glowing waters, a figure struggles. This is where your journey begins... again and again.
Controls in game
Move: Arrow keys/WASD
Interact: Z (press multiple times to push)
If stuck: R
Made for PGMA R1
If you enjoyed the game, I'd really appreciate a vote here: PGMA - Pixel Game Maker Awards
And make sure to play some of the other entries too!
--Help--
It says "Press Z to push" but nothing seems to move
You might have to press Z a few times in order to fully push the other player out of the water.
I tried everything, but I can't get to the other ending
The tree hungers for balance. One falls so two may rise. The fall precedes the flight. Only after descent can the anchor rise.
--Did I win?--
If you made it to an endscreen, but the game restarts you did not finish the game. If it doesn't restart and a lot of sound effects start playing, you probably caused a very weird bug by pressing too many keys and you'll have to reload the page.
Otherwise: Congrats! You made it! Let me know in the comments.
-- Notes --
This game was made in 2 weeks for the first round of the Pixel Game Maker Awards. Although the game technically is finished, there were a lot of things I couldn't add in time, so the story might seem confusing and fragmented. I really apologize for that. I wish I could have spent more time on the cutscenes and polishing too, but I hope it still feels decently polished and the focus on environmental storytelling is palpable.
You can win, although the way you do it might feel a bit counterintuitive without being aware of the lore.
Let me know if you run into any problems and have fun!

Holy art !
I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THIS IS BUT IT IS COOL
The art style and the wave effect thing is beautiful. If this was a full fledged game, imagine all the lore...
I did find a bug though where my clone got stuck to me and I couldn't move.
I know of this bug, but you should be able to press R to free yourself. Were you able to finish the game?
